This report documents Georgia’s major state and local revenue sources and highlights key trends in state finances over the 18-year period from 1998-2015. This period provides a comprehensive overview of changing fiscal patterns in the wake of two national recessions (2001 and 2008-09). Its purpose is to serve as an encyclopedia of recent trends in Georgia’s state and local finances. In doing so, this report provides a foundation for future discourse around government finance in Georgia.
