This brief reviews the major categories of revenue and expenditure for key years (FY 1995, 2005, 2010, 2012 and 2013) and their evolution over time. Changes in revenue and expenditure per capita and rankings are analyzed in three parts: combined state and local, state only, and local only. Although there has been growth in Georgia’s real per capita revenues and expenditures for most categories from FY 1995 to FY 2013, the majority of Georgia’s rankings have decreased below FY 1995, FY 2005 and even FY 2012 levels. However, this drop was less severe in more recent years.
