FRC Brief 208, June 25, 2010, David L. Sjoquist
This brief provides regional revenue estimates of the 1% sales tax for transportation, as specified in NB 277, "The Transportation Investment Act of 2010."
HB 277, the “Transportation Investment Act of 2010”, allows for the areas that comprise the 12 Regional Commissions to adopt a one percent sales tax. (The counties that comprise each of the 12 Regional Commissions are shown below.) The proceeds of the sales tax are to be used for transportation purposes within the Regional Commission district. Estimates of the revenue that would be generated over the 10-year life of the sales tax are likely to be available in late summer or early fall.
