- Biography
Sukriti Beniwal is a Ph.D. candidate in Economics at Georgia State University and a pre-doctoral fellow at The Dartmouth Institute. Her research explores the intersection of health policy, institutions, market structure, and gender economics. She focuses on how organizational and policy changes influence healthcare providers’ decision-making and affect patient outcomes, particularly within Medicaid populations.
At the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies, she is affiliated with the Public Finance Research Cluster. Prior to this, she served as a graduate research assistant with the 2CI Health Informatics Cluster, where she investigated methods for improving the accuracy of econometric models that rely on aggregated data.
Beniwal’s dissertation examines the effects of state-level scope of practice laws on healthcare providers and their implications for underserved populations. Her research also investigates how hospital market structure impacts access to care in the United States. She holds a strong interest in reproductive economics and government welfare programs, with the goal of informing policies that advance healthcare delivery and patient well-being.
