Jake Vaughan is a research associate at the Public Finance Research Cluster, specializing in fiscal policy and data analysis with a focus on state and local government finance, tax policy, and economic trends.
At the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies, Vaughan applies data-driven approaches to inform public policy, contributing to research that supports evidence-based decision-making. Before assuming his current role, he was a graduate research assistant at the cluster while earning his M.A. in Economics at the Andrew Young School.
His research contributions include analyses on tax policy, fiscal impact studies, and economic trends in Georgia. Notable projects include the Tax Expenditure Report, Fiscal Notes, Tax Incentive Evaluations, the Georgia Rankings Report, the Georgia Tax Handbook, and studies on the impact of dual enrollment and the fiscal effects of the Lawrenceville annexation. He has also contributed to revenue forecasting for Gwinnett County and co-authored the policy report, “Personal Income, Property Bases, and Sales Tax Bases: Variation Across Georgia Counties.”
