John Gomez-Mahecha
Public Finance Fellow- Biography
John Gomez-Mahecha is a Ph.D. candidate in Economics at GSU and a graduate research assistant at the Center for State and Local Finance (CSFL). He is an economist from Universidad de los Andes (Bogota, Colombia), where he obtained a master’s degree in Economics. His main research interest lies in the intersection of environmental, public and development economics. His most recent research has mainly focused on the quantitative analysis of environmental and social policy in developing countries, using multiple empirical tools such as causal inference, machine learning and computable economic modeling.
